about

Recorded in 2010 - straight after returning from rural France.
Whilst based in Normandie, exploring France had one intended destination: Bretagne.
Busking, playing and travelling through Bretagne - but being a true Normand (Mont Saint-Michel is ours) and dealing with baguette-as-a-weapon thugs and the Yann Tiersen carousel, Rowan took home the songs he heard - and remembered from there.

Sounds whimsical doesn't it? Oh, The life of the artist!
With shithouse gear in a shed full of empty stubbies, Rowan recorded his own interpretations of the songs he liked; with his own interpretation upon arrival back in Australia; interpreting the songs with influences like the beatles, rolling stones, bob dylan, the blues etc... but respecting interpreting to interoperate those styles.

Bendigo was different back then - truly - and the whole concept was warmly welcomed. So, Rowan decided to record a feature album of the songs. This is kind of it.

I found a copy of this album at the Bendigo tip once.

Included are bonus tracks that never made it onto the first ablbum. Yeah, very 'arty'.
Enjoy Mes Pôtes.

It's a solipsistic fantasy; like flipping through re-released vinyl in JB-HiFi and believing you're discovering new music.
